Casting our minds back to the Health & Safety Excellence Awards 2026, held on 30th April at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, Aura Holohan Group's recognition in the Health & Safety Excellence Award for Facilities Management was a testament to what becomes possible when safety culture is treated not as a compliance obligation but as the foundation of everything an organisation does.

Aura Holohan Group approaches health and safety as the bedrock of operational excellence across the facilities it manages. Through robust governance frameworks, proactive risk management, and a people-first ethos, the organisation creates environments that are safe and compliant not as an end in themselves, but as the conditions that allow people, organisations, and communities to perform at their best. That philosophy is evident in the breadth and quality of the submission that impressed the judging panel at this year's ceremony.

The judges commended the ambition shown in strengthening a positive safety culture, supported by what they described as a robust and well-developed safety management system. The submission presented rich evidence across a range of disciplines: chemical management protocols that demonstrate careful, systematic control of hazardous materials; lifeguard training programmes that reflect the specialist demands of the aquatic and leisure environments Aura Holohan Group operates within; and a digital transformation programme that has modernised how safety information is captured, communicated, and acted upon across the organisation.

What gave the submission particular weight was the volume and quality of external validation it was able to draw on. White Flag Gold Standard recognition, NISO awards, and strong RLSS audit ratings all speak to a safety programme that has been tested and endorsed beyond the organisation's own assessment. Alongside these recognitions, clear reductions in accidents and insurance claims provided the kind of concrete, outcome-based evidence that the judging panel found both compelling and difficult to ignore. The combination of cultural ambition, systematic rigour, external credibility, and measurable improvement marked the Aura Holohan Group submission as one that exemplified what health and safety excellence in facilities management genuinely looks like.

The Health & Safety Excellence Awards 2026 recognised in Aura Holohan Group an organisation that has set a high standard for how safety leadership in the FM sector can be built, evidenced, and sustained.

Stay tuned for the Health & Safety Excellence Awards 2027 cycle, where organisations from across Ireland will once again have the opportunity to showcase their commitment to workplace health and safety excellence.
