US-based workforce development provider WorkForge has expanded its training platform for the food manufacturing industry, headlined by the launch of new Listeria safety content, according to Quality Assurance & Food Safety.
The Kansas City, Missouri-based company's release also includes updated food safety, health and safety, and anhydrous ammonia content.
Developed by veteran food scientist Erik Kurdelak, the new Listeria series covers what Listeria is and why it presents dangers, risks in food operations and contamination pathways, cleaning and sanitation best practices, and immediate response steps including swabbing protocols and root cause analysis.
Mike Burica, chief commercial officer at WorkForge, said Listeria presents one of the most disruptive and costly risks in food manufacturing, with operators consistently reporting that traditional training doesn't stick. He explained the content is designed to drive comprehension so frontline employees understand why the risk exists, how it shows up in their environment and what actions prevent incidents.
WorkForge has delivered upgrades across its core training library and user experience, including enhanced anhydrous ammonia safety training for facilities using ammonia-based refrigeration, improved navigation, higher learner engagement through interactive design and micro-learning formats, and native language delivery to support diverse frontline teams.
Cory Archer, VP of operations and technology at WorkForge, said the workforce needs learning designed for how people actually learn. He explained this means thoughtfully structured experiences that are interactive, engaging and aligned to the realities of modern work to drive real competency.
Burica noted that margin is lost on the front lines rather than on the shelf. He added that investing in modern, continuously updated training is a workforce development strategy that improves consistency, reduces rework and incidents, and helps frontline teams perform at a higher level.
