Looking back last year, United Hardware secured both the Safety Culture Transformation Award and Health & Safety Excellence Award - Warehousing at the Health & Safety Excellence Awards 2025, celebrated for its sustained and structured approach to embedding health and safety behaviours across its warehouse operations and wider organisation.
The organisation began its transformation journey in mid-2021, moving beyond a compliance-driven model to one where health and safety is second nature and embedded into everyday culture. Through the development of clear processes, United Hardware has steadily strengthened its safety performance in the sector.
Judges highlighted the strength of United Hardware’s long-term vision, commending its well-defined three-year roadmap, which began with a comprehensive engagement assessment in 2021.
“United Hardware demonstrated strong leadership in prioritising safety and wellbeing throughout the organisation. Their structured, well-documented programme reflects a genuine commitment to cultural change, supported by clear metrics and sustained investment,” the judging panel said.
In winning the Health & Safety Excellence Award – Warehousing, judges also commended United Hardware’s remarkable progress in strengthening its safety culture, showcasing a clear and continuous commitment to improvement.
These dual recognitions reflect the rising standards within the Health & Safety Excellence Awards, where winners are increasingly distinguished by their ability to drive meaningful behavioural change. United Hardware’s achievement demonstrates how a strategic approach to cultural transformation can deliver lasting improvements in workplace safety.
With momentum building from the 2025 winners, attention now turns to the Health & Safety Excellence Awards 2026 this year. Who will emerge next to set the benchmark for safety excellence?
