Shareleen Jansen Van Vuuren, Head of QEHS at Tritech Group, has been appointed to the judging panel for the Health & Safety Excellence Awards 2026, bringing 18 years of hands-on health, safety, and quality management experience across some of Ireland's most demanding industrial sectors.

Jansen Van Vuuren's career spans mining, electrical, mechanical, plant automation, civil, and building construction — a breadth of sector exposure that gives her an unusually wide vantage point on the practical application of safety culture across complex operational environments. 

She holds an International Health and Safety Managerial Diploma and achieved professional registration in 2017, combining formal qualification with a career built on field-level experience. 

In her current role at Tritech Group, she leads a dedicated EHS team and drives safety culture across the business, translating regulatory requirements into embedded organisational practice.

Her appointment strengthens the independent standards that underpin the Health & Safety Excellence Awards. 

Organised by BusinessRiver, the programme operates across 30 market segments, engaging 12,000 senior business leaders annually. The selection process maintains strict confidentiality agreements, with judges required to declare potential conflicts of interest and entries involving conflicts reassigned to ensure complete impartiality throughout.

As a panel member, Jansen Van Vuuren's grounding in operational safety leadership positions her to assess entries against evolving best practice standards, with particular insight into the day-to-day realities of building and sustaining safety culture within large, multi-discipline organisations. 

She is also a committed mentor, actively supporting the development of emerging EHS professionals — a perspective that is likely to inform her assessment of entries demonstrating investment in people alongside systems and compliance.
