Chinese food manufacturer Shandong Zhongxin Food Group has launched a BRCGS certification initiative aimed at raising food safety management standards and supply chain quality across its operations, beginning with a two-day training programme held in Linyi, Shandong, on 12 May.
According to BRCGS, the launch brought together company leaders, external experts and quality management personnel from across the group, with Ray Jin, BRCGS regional head for North Asia, delivering a keynote address on the strategic importance of internationally recognised food safety standards.
The training programme was delivered by Intertek, with instructor Li Dekun leading sessions focused on the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety. Quality and safety managers alongside system leads from 13 branch companies participated in the programme as the group moved to align its operations with world-class food safety benchmarks.
One of Shandong Zhongxin's deep-processing factories has already achieved BRCGS certification, with the remaining 12 enterprises now set to begin the certification process.
Zhao Bin, business development director at Food Knowledge Navigator, also addressed attendees on core services offered by the LGC Group, including LGC AXIO proficiency testing, which supports food manufacturers in verifying laboratory performance as part of broader quality management frameworks.
Zhang Xibin, general manager of the group's Food Quality Management Department, spoke at the launch ceremony on the strategic rationale for adopting internationally recognised certification, framing it as central to the group's long-term quality improvement ambitions.
Shandong Zhongxin said it plans to widen the certification programme further as the business expands, using improvements in systems development and process management to drive higher production and management standards across all operations.
