US AI-driven fleet safety firm Netradyne has been selected as the preferred safety platform by Ride Yellow, the largest taxicab organisation in the western United States, following a 15% reduction in claim frequency and savings surpassing the cost of implementation within the first 12 months of deployment.

According to Business Wire, Ride Yellow operates a fleet of over 1,500 vehicles across multiple taxi brands including LA Yellow Cab, California Yellow Cab, San Diego Yellow Cab and Denver Metro Taxi. The organisation deployed Netradyne's Driver•i platform featuring the D-450 camera and Vbus odometer tracking module after its previous safety solution proved insufficient in detecting low G-force collisions and delivering timely in-cab alerts.

The Driver•i platform provides 100% drive time analysis and AI-powered GreenZone driver scoring, with in-vehicle alerts designed to correct risky behaviour in real time without requiring direct management intervention. The D-450 camera features four HD lenses delivering a 270-degree field of view, up to 200 hours of on-device video storage and approximately 99% driver behaviour alert accuracy.

"The platform's 100% drive time analysis and highly accurate GreenZone scoring have helped us identify risky behaviours before they become incidents," said William Rouse, chief executive of Ride Yellow. "Since adopting Netradyne, we've seen a measurable improvement in safety and a drop in accident frequency."

Ride Yellow identified commercial auto insurance premiums as its single largest operating expense, with every prevented accident directly reducing claim costs and limiting premium exposure across the fleet.

The deployment also enabled Ride Yellow to maintain existing safety oversight staffing levels despite expanding its fleet, with the platform detecting high-severity risks including red light violations, stop sign infractions and distracted driving.
