Irish medical equipment provider OxygenCare has announced the launch of its new online shop and rental platform providing exclusive access on the island of Ireland to Medela Symphony hospital-grade breast pumps, enabling parents and healthcare providers to rent or buy them, according to Irish Tech News.
By improving access to the Medela Symphony breast pump, OxygenCare is positioned to better meet high demand for breast pumps from parents across Ireland.
The HSE reports an 18.6 per cent increase in the percentage of babies breastfed at the three months developmental check-up since 2015. Breastfeeding provides health benefits for both baby and mother, from immune system support and nutrition aiding easy digestion for baby to fast post-partum recovery for mothers. Breast pumps act as a supportive tool that empowers mothers to continue providing those benefits whilst navigating demands of modern life, managing health challenges and sharing feeding responsibilities.
The Symphony breast pump supports mothers with 2-Phase Expression Technology, which imitates a baby's natural sucking action, Initiation Technology which imitates a newborn's sucking pattern in the first few days after birth and can increase milk supply by 50 per cent, pre-set programmes that are easy to use, and an anatomical oval breast shield with 105-degree angle.
Linda Ryan, Head of Sales at OxygenCare, said: "When you have a baby, there is so much to think about and not everyone's birthing and feeding experience is the same. Whatever the circumstances, our aim is to make it more convenient for those who want to use breast pumps to access these vital devices."
