Ireland’s construction sector is set for another safety overhaul as the Construction Safety Partnership Advisory Committee launches its 2025–2027 Action Plan. Building on a 42% drop in fatalities from previous efforts, the plan shifts attention to life-changing injuries, particularly among new starters, returners, and self-employed contractors.
By combining data-driven insights with collaboration across employers, unions, and government, the plan aims to embed safer practices as the sector expands. Stakeholders stress that while progress has been made, with 48 deaths recorded over five years, there is no room for complacency.
