Ireland’s health system is under immense pressure. Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda has warned the public to stay away unless facing a life-threatening emergency, as flu and Covid-19 outbreaks have left 43 patients waiting for beds. With similar issues at nearby hospitals, the HSE urges people to seek alternative care for minor ailments.

Adding to the crisis, the HSE has issued a major safety alert on four e-cigarette brands containing illegal nicotine levels. These products, now flagged for removal, highlight ongoing regulatory challenges in consumer health protection.
