UK refuse collection vehicle manufacturer Dennis Eagle has achieved ISO 45001 certification for its occupational health and safety management systems, following audits across multiple sites in England covering its manufacturing and service operations.

According to Commercial Motor, the certification also extends to trading division Terberg Matec UK and recognises the company's approach to identifying and managing workplace risks and improving safety performance across the business.

Audits were carried out at Dennis Eagle sites in Blackpool, Worksop, Warrington and Warwick, as well as its Manchester Service Centre, by assurance partner LRQA during the first quarter of 2026, following an initial assessment by manufacturing body Make UK.

The ISO 45001 accreditation completes a suite of management system certifications for the company, adding to its existing ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management accreditations, both achieved in 2023.

"Health and safety has always been a top priority for our business, it's embedded into everything we do," said health and safety manager Richard Young. "ISO 45001 brings greater consistency, accountability and a continued focus on proactive risk management."

Scott McKinlay, lead safety coordinator at Dennis Eagle's Warwick headquarters, said the business would continue reviewing and improving its processes following certification. "Even though we've met the standard for ISO 45001, there is always work to be done to keep the momentum going," he said.

Dennis Eagle said the certification formalised standards already embedded across the business rather than representing a departure from existing practice, reflecting a culture of occupational safety that predates the formal accreditation process.
