Classic Fire + Life Safety is establishing its first permanent branch in Atlantic Canada, opening in Amherst, Nova Scotia in February 2026, according to a Canadian Occupatinal Safety report.

The branch will act as a regional hub for the Atlantic Provinces, employing 10–15 staff by year-end.

CEO Mike Farren described the expansion as “a long-planned step in the company’s Canadian growth,” noting Atlantic Canada has been a strategic priority for several years. The Amherst branch strengthens the company’s network of fire protection and life safety services across Canada.

Ryan Rees, a second-generation fire and life safety professional from Tatamagouche, N.S., will lead the new location. Rees, whose late father operated a fire sprinkler business in the region, commented that building Classic’s operations locally carries personal significance and aligns with the company’s focus on regional expertise and strong local relationships.

The expansion enhances access to fire and life safety solutions, including system design, installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance. Classic positions itself as a total fire and life safety provider for both private and public sector organisations. The company’s portfolio includes Apex, a fire sprinkler fabrication and supply company; Northern Sprinkler Design, providing fire sprinkler design and engineering; and Edge Fire Protection, a full-service US-based contractor.

As the Amherst branch develops, regional employers and safety leaders can expect additional options for contracted fire protection services, support with code compliance, and ongoing system maintenance.

This strategic growth reflects Classic’s commitment to broadening operational reach while providing expert guidance to support workplace health and safety standards across Atlantic Canada.
