Celnor Group has acquired Safety Solutions Group, expanding its health and safety training, risk management and compliance capabilities across Ireland. Announced on 15 October, the deal brings the Dublin-based specialist into Celnor’s Risk Management Division and marks the group’s fourth acquisition in Ireland, according to Celnor’s announcement.

Founded in 1996 by Ciarán McEvoy, Safety Solutions Group supports public and private sector organisations with workplace safety training, risk management and compliance services. Its Safe Cert division also provides inspections and statutory certification for plant, machinery and equipment, services relevant to employers managing operational safety obligations across construction, warehousing, industrial sites and facilities management.

The company’s training credentials include accreditation from IOSH, City & Guilds and SOLAS, while it is also a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council-approved training institution. Its management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, covering quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety. These credentials give the acquisition a clear connection to organisations seeking specialist support with workplace safety and compliance requirements.

For Celnor, the deal adds established Irish expertise to a group operating across the testing, inspection, certification and compliance sector. Independent coverage by Business Focus confirms that Safety Solutions Group will join the Risk Management Division, broadening the group’s specialist training and certification offering. The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Adrian Jackson, Managing Director of Safety Solutions Group, said the partnership would provide the business with the scale and backing to pursue growth and expand its services. Celnor founder and CEO Simon Parrington said the company’s reputation in specialist training and risk management would strengthen the group’s Irish offering. These are the companies’ stated ambitions; the longer-term effect on service capacity and client outcomes will depend on how the businesses develop following the acquisition.

For employers, facilities managers and safety professionals, the deal highlights the continuing role of specialist providers in helping organisations manage workplace risks, training requirements and equipment inspections. A broader service platform could create opportunities for clients seeking connected compliance support, although the announcement does not confirm changes to existing services or customer arrangements.

For the sector, the lesson is direct: bringing established safety specialists into a wider compliance group can create opportunities to extend expertise and service capacity, while maintaining a clear focus on the practical workplace requirements that employers need to meet.
