Blackrock Health has officially opened Ireland’s first private, consultant-led women’s health centre in Dublin, targeting enhanced healthcare delivery and patient safety. The centre, supported by a €16 million investment, provides integrated, female-focused care across a broad range of specialties.

Located at 2-5 Warrington Place, Dublin 2, the facility brings together 28 consultants, four women’s medicine specialists, and 30 allied healthcare professionals. This multi-disciplinary team offers comprehensive services across gynaecology, urology, breast health, endocrinology, gastroenterology, pain medicine, cardiology, dermatology, psychology, health screening, and rheumatology.

The centre also includes a full suite of nursing and allied health services such as physiotherapy, urodynamics, phlebotomy, and radiology diagnostics, including DXA scanning, mammography, and ultrasound. Diagnostic and treatment pathways are designed with an understanding of how multiple health concerns can co-exist, improving patient safety and operational efficiency.

Clinical leadership is provided by Professor Donal Brennan, clinical director and gynaecological oncologist, alongside Dr Gerry Agnew, clinical lead urogynaecology; Dr Caoimhe Hartley, clinical lead women’s medicine; and Professor Kirk Levins, pain medicine. The collaborative team delivers coordinated care under one roof, reducing patient handoffs and enhancing care continuity.

The initiative aligns with Ireland’s Women’s Health Action Plan 2024–2025, addressing gaps in existing healthcare services while providing women convenient access to specialist care. Patients can self-refer or access services via a GP referral, offering flexibility in care pathways and optimising health outcomes.

Blackrock Health positions the new centre as a model for integrated specialist care, supporting operational excellence in service delivery and enhancing clinical safety standards.
