Malaysian medium- to long-haul carrier AirAsia X Berhad has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, with its IOSA Registry validity extended until 16 January 2028, maintaining an unbroken accreditation record dating to its first certification in 2013.
According to AirAsia Newsroom, the IOSA programme is an internationally recognised evaluation system assessing an airline's operational management and control systems and is widely regarded across the aviation industry as the global benchmark for airline operational safety.
Conducted on a biennial basis, the IOSA audit covers eight key operational disciplines: organisation and management systems, flight operations, operational control and flight dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, ground handling operations, cargo operations and security management.
"The successful renewal of our IOSA certification reflects the strength of our safety culture and operational discipline across the organisation," said Benyamin Ismail, general manager of AirAsia X. "Having maintained IOSA accreditation since 2013 is a significant milestone for the airline and reinforces our unwavering commitment to safety, security and operational excellence for our guests."
AirAsia X Berhad operates as the medium- to long-haul affiliate of AirAsia Group, which is currently subject to a name change from AirAsia X to AirAsia Group Berhad, pending shareholder approval at the company's 19th Annual General Meeting and registration by the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
The renewal reinforces the airline's adherence to stringent international operational and safety requirements and its commitment to continuous improvement across all areas of its operations.
IOSA certification is a condition of IATA membership and is recognised by aviation regulators and airline partners worldwide as evidence of compliance with global operational safety standards.
